Emerson Automation Solutions is hiring a Data Analyst I for their Lifecycle Services team in Chennai. This role focuses on Install Base (IB) Data Management for valves and automation products in the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region. You will handle data collection, validation, cleaning, reporting, and automation of manual processes using Excel, Power Query, and other tools — supporting business development and spares management.
This is a good entry-level Data Analyst role for freshers who are strong in Excel/Power Query and have an eye for detail. Ideal if you enjoy working with technical product data and want to learn automation in an industrial/automation domain. Key Responsibilities
- Manage Install Base data — collection, validation, cleaning, and updating from multiple sources (site walkdown, repair reports, shipment data, etc.)
- Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance on imported data
- Generate Standard RSPPL reports and maintain the spares database
- Transform scanned historical paper records into digital Excel archives
- Automate manual processes using Excel Power Query, macros, or other tools
- Monitor the team mailbox and collaborate with other departments for data accuracy
- Create reports from multiple systems and support business decision-making
Eligibility Criteria for Emerson Data Analyst I
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong Excel skills (Formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP, data handling)
- Good understanding of Power Query for data transformation and cleaning
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong written and spoken English communication
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of Power BI (dashboard creation and basic DAX)
- Experience with data validation, cleansing, and structuring
- Basic knowledge of Power Apps or Excel macros/automation
