Software Engineer Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop real-time embedded software in C/C++ for defence land systems
- Work on RTOS (VxWorks, QNX) and Linux-based platforms
- Implement multi-thread/multi-process applications
- Design inter-process communication and distributed architectures
- Integrate communication protocols: CAN, MIL-STD-1553, Modbus, NMEA, Ethernet, Serial
- Develop built-in diagnostics and test codes for reliability
- Support customer-site issue resolution and root cause analysis
- Use Jira, Git, and Linux tools daily
Required Skills
Must-Have:
- Strong C/C++ programming
- Operating Systems: Linux + any RTOS (VxWorks/QNX)
- Multi-threading, IPC, sockets
- Communication protocols: CAN, 1553, Ethernet, Serial
- Linux development environment + Jira
Good to Have:
- Qt framework
- IP networking, VLANs, Ethernet switching
- Defence domain exposure
