HPE Aruba is hiring a Network Engineer – Software TAC (Engineer 1 – Network Support) for its global technical support team in Bangalore/Chennai. The role focuses on providing technical support for enterprise networking and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, primarily ClearPass. You will handle troubleshooting of network connectivity, authentication, and access control issues for global customers via phone, email, and chat in a 24×7 hybrid environment.
Solid entry-level TAC support role at HPE Aruba if you have strong networking fundamentals and are comfortable with rotational shifts including nights and weekends. Freshers or 0-2 years with CCNA-level knowledge and interest in ClearPass/NAC will fit well — not ideal if you want pure development or fixed daytime hours.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for networking and ClearPass-related issues to global customers via phone, email, and chat
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity and authentication issues
- Work on access control problems involving 802.1X, RADIUS, and guest authentication
- Analyse logs, configurations, and basic packet captures for troubleshooting
- Document issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in ticketing tools
- Collaborate with senior engineers for escalations and complex cases
- Follow defined processes and SLAs in a 24×7 support environment
Eligibility Criteria for HPE Network Engineer – Software TAC
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (B.E./B.Tech, B.Sc, BCA, B.Com, BBA, BA, etc.)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: OSI Model, TCP/IP, IP addressing & subnetting, ARP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, switching basics, basic static routing, STP, link aggregation, broadcast/multicast/unicast
- Basic understanding of network authentication (AAA, 802.1X, RADIUS), network security fundamentals, wireless networking basics, and Active Directory/LDAP
- Basic Linux knowledge (command-line, log navigation & troubleshooting)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a structured 24×7 support environment with rotational shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays)
- Typically 0-2 years’ experience
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Network Access Control (NAC) or ClearPass (internship / project / training)
- Certifications such as CCNA / CWNA / RHCSA or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of Wireshark or packet capture tools
- Basic scripting exposure (optional)
