About the Role
Honeywell Aerospace is looking for a motivated Software Engineer I to join its high-performing engineering team. This role involves working on complex and mission-critical aerospace software systems used across commercial aviation, business jets, general aviation, space, and defense sectors.
You will contribute to the design, development, testing, and integration of software systems that support flight management systems, cockpit displays, environmental control systems, and engine control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test moderately complex software systems using Java, Oracle, and web technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new software features
- Perform system and integration testing independently
- Debug and resolve production issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes
- Create and maintain functional and technical documentation
- Participate in code reviews and follow software engineering best practices
- Drive automation initiatives and scripting for testing and deployment
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and guidelines (DO-200B preferred)
Technical Skills & Experience
- Programming: Core Java (mandatory), basic knowledge of Spring Boot
- Databases: Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL (basic understanding)
- Web Technologies: HTML, JSP, JavaScript, APIs, React JS, jQuery
- Testing: Knowledge of testing methodologies for databases, web applications, UI, and APIs
- Tools & Processes: Familiarity with configuration management tools and SDLC
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, or MCA
- 0–1 years of experience in software engineering
- Aerospace domain experience is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of DO-200B standards is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Self-driven and capable of working independently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
