Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Operations team for maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure
  • Perform server rack installation, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and respond to emergent situations affecting operational stability
  • Act as primary contact for internal customers (Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, etc.) and external partners (Hardware Vendors, Contractors)
  • Meet SLAs against assigned trouble tickets via directed workflow; first-line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues
  • Perform on-call duties, participate in scheduled maintenance, change management, and monitoring of data center infrastructure
  • Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and achieving daily/weekly goals
  • Apply knowledge of policies/procedures including safety, security, and contribute to documentation via root cause analysis
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives in the data center environment
  • More experienced technicians may assist in training less experienced team members

Eligibility Criteria for Amazon DCO Trainee

Mandatory Requirements

  • BE/B.Tech graduates with specialization in IT/IS/ECE or Electronics & Telecommunications
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix Administration
  • Server Hardware Troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of Server Booting: POST, BIOS, PXE, Kickstart, GRUB/LILO, RAID
  • Some experience with Network Protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies
  • Network Hardware: Copper and Optical Fiber Cabling, Switches, Routers
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for IT infrastructure/hardware
  • Ability to lift & rack equipment up to 18kg; work in cramped/elevated spaces, adhering to safety guidelines
