Calix Graduate Trainee Overview
Calix is hiring Graduate Trainees for their Security Engineering and Threat Intelligence team in Bangalore. This role gives you hands-on exposure to real network threat detection, packet analysis, signature development for IPS/NIDS, OSINT, and automation using Python. It’s an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in Cybersecurity, Networking, and Threat Intelligence.
This is a strong Cybersecurity-focused Graduate Trainee role at Calix. Ideal for students who have good networking concepts, packet analysis skills (Wireshark), and basic Python. If you have done any projects on IDS, Suricata/Snort, or threat hunting, your chances are much higher. Hybrid model (only 20 days/quarter in office) makes it quite flexible.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze network-based attacks and generate detection logic for IPS/NIDS
- Perform packet-level analysis using PCAPs, Wireshark, and Zeek
- Develop and test detection signatures for intrusion detection systems
- Automate analysis workflows and build small utilities using Python
- Conduct OSINT for emerging threats, IoCs, and TTPs
- Create technical documentation, threat reports, and playbooks
- Build simulated attack scenarios to validate detection capabilities
Eligibility Criteria for Calix Graduate Trainee
Mandatory Requirements
- Graduated or Final Year (2024/2025) – Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Networking, or Cyber Security
- Strong understanding of Computer Networking, TCP/IP, OSI Model, and Intrusion Detection Systems
- Programming knowledge in Python (ability to write scripts/utilities)
- Comfortable working with Linux and Windows
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Familiarity with Wireshark, Suricata, Snort, tcpdump
- Knowledge of Cyber Threat Intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Experience/coursework in Network Security or Packet Analysis
- Understanding of malware delivery methods
Work Model
Hybrid: Work from Bangalore office for only 20 days in a quarter (very flexible).
