CSG Software Development Engineer I Overview
CSG is hiring a Software Development Engineer I to join their Public Cloud Architecture team. You will implement features and bug fixes in existing .NET APIs/services and React front-ends. The team is responsible for developing standards, engineering patterns, and assisting in public cloud operations across CSG. You will work on cutting-edge technology in a fun, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement well-scoped features and bug fixes in existing .NET APIs/services and React front-ends, following established patterns, coding standards, and security guidelines
- Write, debug, and maintain clean, testable C# and JavaScript/TypeScript code, including basic unit and integration tests (e.g., xUnit, NUnit, Jest, React Testing Library)
- Collaborate with senior engineers and product partners to understand requirements, break down work, and estimate tasks
- Participate in code reviews as both author and reviewer, incorporating feedback to improve code quality, performance, and security
- Help maintain technical documentation for owned components (API contracts, configuration, deployment/runbooks)
- Assist in monitoring and supporting applications in cloud-based test and production environments under supervision (logs, basic debugging, simple production fixes)
- Follow team processes for agile development, Git branching/pull request workflows, and cloud-based CI/CD pipelines
- Manage and maintain the company website using WordPress, including content updates, page design, and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 1-3 years of professional software development experience (internships, co-ops, or significant project work acceptable)
- Hands-on experience with C# and .NET (e.g., ASP.NET Core, Web API) and at least one front-end framework, preferably React
- Understanding of web fundamentals (HTTP, REST, JSON, browser basics)
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Postgres SQL and SQL Server) and basic querying or ORM usage (e.g., Entity Framework)
