S&P Global Apprentice – Data Analyst Overview
S&P Global is hiring Apprentice – Data Analyst for their Enterprise Data Organization. You will work on various research reports and company documents to collect financial data, analyze it, and generate meaningful insights. This is a 12-month apprenticeship open ONLY to freshers with no Provident Fund/UAN account. Commerce background (BBA/BMS/B.Com) or MBA/M.Com in Finance/Accounts required.
CRITICAL: You must NOT have a PF/UAN account to be eligible. Only 2025 commerce graduates (BBA/BMS/B.Com) or 2025/2026 PGDM/MBA/M.Com (Finance/Accounts) can apply. Be prepared for rotational shifts, including night shifts (24×5 environment). A strong understanding of financial statements and annual reports is a must. Ahmedabad, Gurgaon, or Mumbai location – choose your preferred city.
The Team – Data Operations
The Apprentice Data Operations team works on various research reports and company documents to collect information and generate meaningful consensus from collected data. This effort is coupled with real-time monitoring of global industry trade publications and websites/news aggregators. Different teams under Enterprise Data Organization include Fundamentals, Filings & Sourcing, People Data, Transactions (M&A and Capital Market Data), Private markets, and many more.
Financial Operations & Reporting Team (Alternative Team)
This centralized unit manages Client, Services Provider, and Business Partner billing. Core deliverables include revenue assurance, ad-hoc client billing reports, financial reporting for P&L, invoice dispute resolution, customer/product contract reports, etc. Business vertical exposure includes Tax, Regulatory, Trade, KYC, and other industries.
Key Responsibilities
Data Operations Responsibilities:
- High-quality financial data collection, analysis, extraction, and entering data in work tools as per guideline specifications
- Understand the working of the dataset, be aware of workflows, and have a strong working knowledge of work tools
- Deliver on predefined individual and team targets, including delivering outcomes with quality and excellence
- Troubleshoot problems or issues and support team in enhancing workflow/processes
- Timely response to emails from coworkers and managers. Be proactive and demonstrate aptitude for new learnings
Financial Operations & Reporting Responsibilities:
- Obtain a complete understanding of business lines supported and the overall business cycle (Contract-service-billing)
- Act as a Project Manager – formulate new processes, deploy, train others, and keep optimizing for better efficiency
- Ability to multitask, meet strict deadlines, and be a self-starter
Eligibility Criteria for S&P Global Apprentice – Data Analyst
Mandatory Requirements:
- PF/UAN: Freshers only with no Provident Fund/UAN Account
- Education (Option 1): Fresh graduate with a commerce background – BBA/BMS/B.Com (Passing year 2025)
- Education (Option 2): PGDM/MBA/M.Com specializing in Finance/Accounts (Passing year 2025 or 2026)
- Willing to work in rotational shifts based on business requirements (24×5 environment with rotational shifts, including night shift)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and accountancy, including financial statements and annual reports
- Adaptability to work across all time zones
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpretive skills
