CGI Jr. Data ETL Tester Overview
CGI is hiring Junior Quality Engineers for Big Data, Data Warehouse (DWH), and ETL Testing projects. This role is perfect for freshers and candidates with 0–3 years experience who want to build a career in Data Testing. You will validate complex ETL processes, write SQL queries, build automation using Python/PySpark, and work in an Agile environment supporting global clients.
This is a solid entry-level Data Testing role at CGI for candidates with good SQL and basic Python/PySpark knowledge. Great learning opportunity if you want to grow in Big Data/ETL testing domain. Skip if you have zero SQL experience or are only interested in development (not testing) roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end testing of Big Data, DWH, and ETL processes
- Write complex SQL queries for data validation and transformation checks
- Build automation solutions for data validation using Python and PySpark
- Create and maintain test suites for new and existing features
- Validate table/file ingestion and real-time streaming applications
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint planning, Daily stand-ups, Demos)
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, stakeholders, and global delivery teams

Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 0–3 years of experience in Big Data / ETL / DWH testing
- Strong SQL skills (Joins, Functions, CTEs, complex queries)
- 1+ year hands-on experience with Python / PySpark for automation
- Good understanding of testing processes and defect management
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Good-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to Unix, X-ray, or test management tools
- Knowledge of large datasets and data transformation validation
- Interest in automation and continuous improvement
- Agile methodology experience
