About Amazon ROC
ROC is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across the Amazon Supply Chain network. It ensures hassle-free, timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. ROC steps in to resolve exceptions and keeps stakeholders informed. The team also identifies trends in network exceptions and automates processes or proposes process changes to streamline operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers, Shippers, Drivers) and internal customers (Amazon sites, business teams, and stakeholders)
- Maintain high-standards of quality and productivity in all transactions or conversations
- Understand the size of the problem and systemically escalate problems to relevant owners and teams; follow through with the closure of issues
- Work with Amazon Internal tools, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Quickly understand the business impact of trends and make decisions based on available data
- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs
- Support tasks such as load scheduling, load cancellations, network capacity management, coordinating with non-Amazon transportation organizations (rail, sea), managing remote gate-houses, equipment availability, and equipment maintenance
Operations Vertical Details
Inbound (IB) Operations
- Deals with Vendor/Shipper/Carrier/Amazon Sites relationship
- Ensures freight is picked-up on time and delivered at destination sites as per given appointment
Outbound (OB) Operations
- Deals with Amazon Sites/Carrier/Carrier Hub/Shipper destination sites relationship
- Ensures outbound truck leaves Amazon sites/Shipper origin sites to deliver customer orders as per promise
Issue Resolution
- Address appointment bookings, reschedules, in-transit disruptions, and weather impact situations occurring during the pick-up to delivery lifecycle
