Cognizant Service Desk Overview
Cognizant is hiring freshers for their Digital Workplace Practice (Service Desk) role across India. This is an IT Helpdesk / Technical Support position where you will be the first point of contact for end-users, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, managing tickets, and ensuring minimal downtime. The role involves shift work from office locations.
This is a high-volume fresher hiring drive for Service Desk support at Cognizant. Perfect for 2025/2026 graduates from BCom, BCA, BSc, BA, BBA etc. who are comfortable with night shifts, customer-facing work, and office environment. Not ideal if you are strictly looking for software development roles.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for end-users reporting IT issues
- Log, track, and resolve Service Desk tickets within defined SLAs
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime
- Escalate complex issues to internal IT teams
- Build and maintain knowledge base articles for faster resolution
- Provide technical support with a client-focused approach
Eligibility Criteria for Cognizant Service Desk
Must-Have Requirements
- Full-time 3-year UG degree (BCom, BCA, BSc, BA, BBA, B.Voc, BMS etc.) – 2025 or 2026 passing out
- Minimum 50% throughout academics (10th, 12th, and UG) – No rounding off allowed
- No standing arrears / backlogs at the time of joining
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work in shifts (including night shifts) from office
- Indian nationals / OCIs currently residing in India

- Basic technical knowledge of hardware, software, and IT systems
- Good customer service and problem-solving mindset
