JioHotstar Software Development Engineer I Overview
JioHotstar is hiring a Software Development Engineer I to build world-class content viewing experiences for millions of users. This frontend-focused role involves designing and delivering high-quality distributed applications for the website and TV apps, ensuring performance, accessibility, and seamless user experience at massive scale within the Viewer Experience (VX) organization.
This is a strong frontend engineering role at JioHotstar for candidates with solid JavaScript and React/Angular skills. Excellent opportunity if you want to work on high-scale OTT products used by millions. Strong browser knowledge and clean coding practices will stand out.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver end-to-end features with high performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
- Collaborate with product stakeholders to deliver new user-facing features on website and TV apps
- Implement UI/UX designs and ensure technical feasibility
- Build reusable code and contribute to in-house Design System
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
- Create documentation, DFDs, and code comments
Eligibility Criteria for JioHotstar SDE I
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 0-2 years of professional experience as a frontend developer
- Strong experience in JavaScript
- Deep knowledge of how browsers work
- Understanding of design & architecture patterns
- Experience with React, Angular, or similar frameworks
- Proficiency with Git and front-end build tools
Preferred Skills
- Open source contributions
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies
- Experience with large-scale web applications
