Cognizant Service Desk Role Overview

Cognizant is hiring freshers for their Digital Workplace Practice – Service Desk role. You will be the first point of contact providing technical support to clients, troubleshooting IT issues, and ensuring the smooth functioning of computer systems and IT services. This role is open to 2025 and 2026 graduates from ANY 3-year UG degree (B.Com, BCA, BSc, BA, BBA, B.Voc, BMS, etc.).

This is a Service Desk role – not development. 2025 and 2026 graduates from ANY 3-year degree can apply. Minimum 50% in X, XII, and UG required (49.9% not allowed). No standing arrears. Be prepared for shift work and working from any Cognizant office in India. No service bond is a big plus. CTC not disclosed yet. Apply before 15 June 2026.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact in the Service Desk for end-users reporting IT issues
  • Log, track, and resolve Service Desk tickets accurately and within defined SLAs
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimize downtime and disruption
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to escalate and resolve complex scenarios
  • Build and maintain knowledge base articles to enable faster resolutions

Eligibility Criteria for Cognizant Service Desk Role

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Students graduating in 2025 and 2026 from any 3-year UG degree (B.Com, BCA, BSc, BA, BBA, B.Voc, BMS, etc.)
  • Students currently enrolled in full-time postgraduate courses are NOT eligible
  • Consistent academic record with a minimum 50% in X, XII, Diploma, UG (rounding off 49.9% is not allowed)
  • At the time of joining, a minimum 50% aggregate in pursuing a degree with no standing arrears
  • Students with standing arrears are NOT eligible to apply
  • Flexibility to work from any Cognizant office location at a given shift time, and technology is mandatory
  • Open to Indian nationals/OCIs who are currently residing in India

Important Notes:

  • Students who applied for re-evaluation and are waiting for results would be validated with the initial results score declared
  • Appropriate CGPA to % conversion to be considered as per university norms
